Job Description
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Coordinator to join our team at the Kate Valley Landfill & Gareth James Energy Park, in Waipara. This role plays a vital part in supporting site compliance with employee engagement and support, contractor pre qualification and monitoring, legislative knowledge and understanding, and the implementation of the WMNZ’s HSEQ Management System. You'll help ensure safety and environmental standards are upheld and that all reporting and documentation meet regulatory and internal requirements. Most importantly you will support a stable team to go home safely each day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate HSEQ compliance records and documentation
- Review and update Work Instructions, JSEAs, hazardous substance registers, and MSDS registers
- Support external audits and help develop corrective action plans
- Develop/coordinate site HSEQ plans
- Organise and deliver HSEQ training for employees
- Assist in maintaining licences, permits, and site-specific emergency and safety plans
- Be an integral part of the onsite leadership team that identifies and works together to rectify non-compliance issues and areas of improvement
- Support HSEQ governance across the site, ensuring alignment with WMNZ systems and procedures
Qualifications
- Formal qualification in Health and Safety
- Solid knowledge of NZ HSEQ legislation and compliance practices
- Experience with HSEQ systems, audits, and investigations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Level 2 First Aid Certification
- Current NZ driver’s licence
