Job Description: Contract Manager – Horticulture

Location: Ōpōtiki, Bay of Plenty Region
Payrate: $34 per hour
Minimum Hours of Work Per Week: 30
Maximum Hours of Work Per Week: 40
Key Requirements:
A Level 4 or above qualification in any management or related field, OR At least 2 years of experience in a related field or any type of management experience irerespective of the industry he or she has worked in.
Strong organisational, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Proven ability to interpret contract documents, manage timelines, and coordinate multiple subcontractors or service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, review, negotiate, and administer service and contractor agreements for orchard and horticultural operations
Coordinate and supervise the work of contractors (e.g., pruning, harvesting, canopy maintenance), ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline standards
Monitor contract performance, manage variations and resolve issues or disputes in consultation with senior management
Prepare and analyse reports on service delivery outcomes, plant health, workforce performance, and cost control
Maintain operational documentation, such as service logs, contract records, work schedules, and compliance certifications
Liaise with farm leadership, suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders regarding contract scopes and requirements
Advise senior management on contractual obligations, renewal schedules, and improvement opportunities
Provide input into budgeting, resource allocation, and planning related to outsourced services
