We are looking for a kitchen hand/cook/Chef de Partie to join our team in Browns Bay. Palato is a small 30-seat restaurant, you will work closely with the head chef who has spent the majority of his cooking career in Michelin-starred restaurants and with James Beard Award-winning chefs. While we are primarily producing fresh Italian pasta, we are not traditional Italian cuisine. Other than learning how to produce and work with fresh pasta, you can expect to learn modern technique-driven cuisine with wide-ranging flavour profiles. You will have access to work with the best ingredients available and with brand new top of the line kitchen equipment.
Some of the things we are looking for:
- A strong understanding of food hygiene and work safety
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be eligible to work in New Zealand (we are unable to sponsor visas)
- Motivated to learn and become a better culinarian while also helping your team do the same.
Pay will vary, $24-26/hr to start depending on your experience. This is a casual/part-time role at 10-20 hrs/week.
