Location: Whangamata
Position: Cook (Minimum 30 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour (based on experience)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes as per the menu and food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control.
- Ensure proper food storage, labelling, and rotation.
- Support menu planning and contribute to new dish ideas.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including allergen controls.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely service.
- Train and assist junior kitchen staff when required.
Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:
- A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification (e.g., Certificate in Cookery) or overseas equivalent.
Alternatively, at least tow years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification. - Sound knowledge of food hygiene, preparation, and kitchen safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
