Step aboard and immerse yourself in one of New Zealand's most breathtaking and remote locations. RealNZ is looking for hospitality legends to join our Overnight Cruise team in Doubtful Sound - an unforgettable opportunity to work in the heart of Fiordland.
Our overnight vessels operate like floating hotels, and we're looking for experienced hospitality professionals who are ready to bring their A-game to the water. If you've got a solid background in food service, housekeeping, or front-of-house roles and love creating memorable guest experiences, we want to hear from you.
The roster offers a unique lifestyle balance: 7.5 days on, 6.5 days off - that's every second week to yourself. With meals and accommodation provided while on board, it's also a fantastic opportunity to save.
This role requires a full-season commitment from September 2025 to April 2026, and due to visa and operational requirements, we're only able to consider applicants who can commit for the entire season. This is a safety-sensitive role and is subject to RealNZ's drug and alcohol testing processes.
What you'll be doing:
You'll be part of a small, tight-knit crew responsible for delivering exceptional service across multiple areas including:
- Food and beverage service
- Housekeeping and cabin presentation
- Assisting with water activities like kayaking
- Maritime crewing duties
This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role - perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, guest-facing environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.
What's in it for you?
- Live and work in Doubtful Sound (yes, on the boat!)
- Work with a passionate team in a truly awe-inspiring location
- Be part of a business that cares deeply about people, place, and the environment
- Enjoy some incredible staff perks! Bring a friend along to experience RealNZ's unforgettable adventures at a fantastic discount. Explore the Te Anau Glowworm Caves, cruise Milford Sound, dine at the famous Walter Peak and discover Rakiura. It's an amazing opportunity to experience the best of New Zealand without breaking the bank
