Position Details
- Remuneration Details: Ten-week paid internship at $28.95 an hour.
- Internship Period: November 2025 - February 2026
- Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
- Work Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm
- Work Location: Auckland, New Zealand—hybrid working policy with work onsite at our Auckland, New Zealand office.
Primary Responsibilities
As a Data Science Intern on the Engineering Team, you'll be primarily responsible for:
- Working with the rest of the team on renewable generation forecasts for power markets worldwide. There will be opportunities to utilize Data Science across other areas of time-series forecasting.
- Becoming a subject matter expert in the energy industry by engaging in diverse activities.
- Processing and managing data and presenting results to key stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be located in Auckland, New Zealand
- Completing a degree in an analytical field, including but not limited to Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or Statistics
- Knowledge of statistical principles and modeling
- Familiarity with statistical software packages, e.g., R, Python, etc.
- Experience developing machine learning/statistical models.
- Motivated work ethic
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Fluency in English, with solid writing and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of APIs, handling JSON, and other data formats
- Knowledge of database design and query concepts in SQL
