  • Southland Hospital
  • Permanent, part-time (0.7 FTE, 28 hours per week) role
  • We embrace a workforce that is diverse and inclusive

This is a rewarding opportunity to lead outpatient dietetic care in a dynamic and supportive setting, with additional involvement in inpatient wards as required.

Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model (on-site and telehealth), in a region known for its tight-knit community, minimal traffic, and access to Southland's stunning natural landscapes.

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.

About the role

As a Dietitian based at Southland Hospital, you'll lead outpatient care while also supporting inpatient wards as required. You'll deliver services both in person and via telehealth, using the PACE (Patient Anywhere, Clinician Elsewhere) model to improve access for patients across the region, particularly in rural areas.

Your caseload will be broad and varied, with a focus on diabetes, renal, oncology, gastroenterology, and general medical and surgical patients. This secondary-level hospital role offers opportunities to contribute to clinical education, quality initiatives, and service development, making it ideal for someone who values flexibility, autonomy, and making a meaningful impact.

About you

You must:

  • be registered with the New Zealand Dietitians Board and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate with a prescribing endorsement (essential)
  • have at least three years' experience across outpatient and inpatient settings
