About the role
As the Southland Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all electrical services at Southland Hospital campus in Invercargill, but also several other clinical facilities throughout the Southland region, including Lakes Hospital, Stewart Island, dental facilities and smaller health centres.
You will be supervising two Electricians, and together, you will be responsible for dealing with reactive breakdowns and Programmed Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
You will:
- become an expert in all the electrical systems in the hospital - from light fittings to Building Management System, from sockets to Air Handler Units
- build positive relationships with the clinical and support staff throughout the hospital, which will enable the electrical team to carry out essential maintenance in an active, functioning hospital
- be responsible for reviewing all electrical work requests and assigning work to your team and external contractors
- provide support to the Regional Electrical Team Leader, and the Capital Projects team in developing future projects across the Southland region.

About the Team/Service/Location
You will be joining a Facilities team made up of over 40 people encompassing electrical, mechanical and works spread over Southland, Dunedin and Queenstown. Working together to keep all the Hospitals safe and working well.

About you
Our ideal candidate must have:
- current electrical registration and practicing license
- current, clean driver's licence
- experience as an Electrician in a commercial environment
- excellent people skills
- a positive, inclusive attitude.
Our ideal candidate should have:
- previous supervisory experience (would be a plus, but isn't a deal breaker
previous experience in a healthcare environment (would be a big help).
