Director of Future Pathways

St Paul's Collegiate School
Hamilton, Waikato
Full time

Located in St Paul's Collegiate School Hamilton

St Paul’s is one of New Zealand’s leading independent Anglican day and boarding schools. With a roll of 880 students and growing, we’re entering an exciting new chapter. From 2026, we’ll welcome our first cohort of Year 9 girls - and by 2027, we’ll offer a fully co-educational experience from Year 9 to Year 13.

As part of this growth, we’re establishing our new Centre of Future Pathways - a future-focused Careers Education hub designed to equip students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to shape meaningful academic, vocational, and personal pathways. We’re looking for a dynamic Director of Future Pathways to lead this exciting next phase. This role offers a rare opportunity to design and deliver a school-wide careers and transition programme that will inspire, empower, and support students as they prepare for life beyond the school gates.

As the Director of Future Pathways you will lead the development and delivery of a Careers Education programme with touchpoints across every year level and a commitment to individualised support, community connection, and innovation. Based in our newly refurbished Centre of Future Pathways, and working closely with a yet-to-be advertised Future Pathways Advisor, you will be responsible for bringing this vision to life.

This role will suit someone who understands the secondary school environment and brings experience in careers education, transition planning, and/or senior pastoral care. Your ability to network widely and build strong connections with tertiary providers, industry partners, and the wider community will also be essential to your success.

This is a permanent, full-time position, commencing in 2026. A Future Pathways Advisor will be appointed following the successful recruitment of this position to support the implementation of this vision. These roles will be an important part of our wider Teaching and Hauora programmes, with face-to-face and group sessions throughout the school day; however, there will not be a consistent, formal timetabled teaching load.

At St Paul’s, our vision is Cultivating Educated Contributors, and our mission is Inspiring Minds, Building Character, Shaping Futures. Alongside academic excellence, we are committed to being New Zealand’s premier boarding school, offering outstanding facilities, expert pastoral care, and diverse engagement opportunities for students. We are looking for staff who will embrace our vision and mission and work with us to achieve our strategic goals.

Join us and help shape the future of our students at St Paul’s.
