About Papatoetoe Kindergarten
Papatoetoe Kindergarten has proudly served the local community for over 75 years. We are a vibrant, multicultural kindergarten where tamariki develop a strong sense of belonging - their tūrangawaewae. Our curriculum reflects and celebrates each child's identity, heritage and culture, empowering them to be proud of who they are.
Our fully qualified and passionate kaiako foster strong partnerships with whānau, encouraging active involvement and collaboration. Play-based learning is at the heart of our teaching, with tamariki exploring and growing through science, nature, literacy, the arts, music and movement. As a team, we embrace joy, curiosity, and creativity in every learning experience.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ECE kaiako to join our teaching team on a fixed term basis through to December 2025, working 32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a high-quality learning environment while being supported by a collaborative and nurturing team.
Our Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be a qualified, registered ECE teacher with a current practising certificate
- Embrace a play-based philosophy and foster child-led learning
- Show cultural responsiveness and a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Demonstrate inclusive practice and understanding of diverse learning needs
- Confidently use ICT to support learning and documentation
- Have experience supporting ākonga with additional learning needs
- Thrive in a fast-paced, community-centred kindergarten environment
- Be flexible, creative, enthusiastic and a true team player
