Ecological Restoration Team Member (Fixed Term – 4 months)

Wildlands are seeking an Ecological Restoration Field Team Member to work fulltime, fixed term for a period of 4 months, to assist our Rotorua Branch.
The hourly rate range is $24.00 - $26.00, with the potential for a further increase when the core competencies of the role are met.
The role is to undertake ecological restoration work which includes pest plant control, planting and pest animal control.
It is essential that you have a willingness to contribute and work in a team, are physically fit, and have a passion for working outdoors in all sorts of weather. The work involves the use of agrichemicals (herbicides), animal toxins (poisons), and traps on a regular basis. Some work may involve staying away in remote areas in basic accommodation.

- Ability to work independently and within a team
- A good work ethic, efficient and H&S conscious
- A good level of fitness
- Full NZ drivers licence (preferred)
On the job training and mentoring will be provided, including:
- Agrichemical handling (mixing and application)
- Pest plant control methods
- Plant identification
- Planting
- Hand held GPS use
- Use and maintenance of hand tools
Additional formal training will be provided as appropriate, and may include:
- Growsafe
- Controlled substance licence
- Chainsaw
- 4WD
- LUV/Quad bike
