The opportunity
In this role based in Tauranga, as an Enhanced Maintenance Foreperson you will support the Tauranga City Council maintenance contract team to deliver on a variety of projects for our client TCC. This role will see you leading an operational crew to deliver work on time, on budget and safely. On any given day you could be doing anything from building a retaining wall, fixing roadside fences and barriers or replacing cobbles and pavers in the CBD. You will be coordinating plant, labour, subcontractors and suppliers required to deliver this work on time and to a high standard. Your talents will provide the team with an environment that puts safety and quality first.
In addition to the above you will:
- Ensure your team adheres to all health and safety policies and procedures
- Maximising your team’s daily productivity and ensuring the quality of works
- Support the training and development of your team

We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 5 years’ experience in civil construction
- Experience leading teams
- Minimum full current class 1 licence , preferable Class 2
- WTR endorsements and experience operating plant
- Experienced in concrete work, with a good understanding of cobble techniques
- Carpentry skills
- A background in retaining structures, formwork, civil construction, concrete, earthworks and road construction
- Previous plant experience in a construction environment
- Proven experience in supervising and leading a crews
- Ability to communicate clear expectations to your team and suppliers
- Accountability for resources, including people management and supply allocation
- A can-do attitude and the ability to problem solve
- An unwavering commitment towards safety with a safety record to match
