Expression of Interest Clinical Lead, Regional Emergency Department Network
Background
The Northern Region Emergency Departments (EDs) currently work together as an informal network. Regional health leaders recognise the potential for EDs to further improve inter-district collaboration and alignment with performance measures, infrastructure, and clinical pathways. By establishing a regional clinical lead role, the network will foster and develop ED clinical leadership, standardise and improve performance, and regional service development initiatives to improve patient care across the region.
Role
Regional executive leadership support resourced time for a Network Clinical Lead role with network management support.
Suitable leads will be expected to develop:
- Clear accountabilities for Shorter Stays in ED performance within an ED's locus of control.
- Regional standardisation of emergency medicine performance measures, including productivity, to inform future staffing models.
- Network processes to oversee and improve key performance metrics including equitable outcomes.
- Cross district collaboration within the emergency network and with other regional networks to align work plans, with a focus on clinical pathways, IT infrastructure, CAPEX items, e.g. point of care, ultrasound machines.
- Effective liaison and leadership for regional emergency department issues referred from the Regional Provider Capacity Planning and Response Group (RPG).

More about you:
- You hold vocational registration in Emergency Medicine, and a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
- You are an experienced senior leader.
- Your previous roles provide significant knowledge and experience in strategic and operational leadership in providing Emergency Care.
