From our roads to recycling, public libraries and pools, water supply to walking tracks, and everything in between, DCC's people are talented and committed to serving their city.

Our Community Development and Events team provide support, advice and resources to community, arts, voluntary and events organisations.

The Opportunity

We have a fixed term (11 month) opportunity to join our Events team as an Event Producer. You'll join our dedicated Events team to deliver a dynamic portfolio of events that reflect the spirit of Dunedin. You'll also play a key role in supporting communities with expert advice and practical event assistance. This is a varied and fast-paced role, ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, communicates confidently with a range of stakeholders, and brings at least five years' experience in event management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the delivery of a wide range of city events
  • Collaborate across Council teams, with stakeholders and contractors to ensure events are high-quality, on time, and within budget
  • Promote and assess event grant applications in line with Council's funding processes
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives within the Events team, bringing fresh, efficient, and creative approaches

About You

You'll bring experience, energy, and creativity to the role, along with:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or strong industry experience
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative, values-driven approach to work
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A flair for event planning and delivery

Are you a proactive event coordinator who leads by example and thrives on creating exceptional events for your city? This is your opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to Dunedin's event landscape.

What we offer:

  • Fixed Term opportunity (parental leave cover 29 September 2025 - 14 August 2026)
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Salary range $81,140 - $95,459 per annum

The DCC is committed to the Principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and our work serving the citizens of Dunedin will reflect this.
