Req ID: 101025
Department: NZ Personal Banking Branch Network
Division: New Zealand
Location: Kaikohe
Ko Mātou – About Us

Kia Hanga I Te Ao, E Ora Ai, E Tupu Ai, Te Tangata Me Te Kainga. At ANZ, we’re shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

Mō te tūranga - About the role

At ANZ, we believe banking should feel personal, not transactional. As a Service Consultant in our Personal Banking team, you’ll be part of a team that genuinely supports each other. Your role will centre on delivering outstanding face-to-face service to customers, helping them with their everyday banking and guiding them towards the right financial solutions.

You'll be:
The first point of contact for customers, delivering seamless and efficient banking experiences
Listening with care and using the right tools to understand customer needs and have meaningful conversations
Supporting customers in transitioning to digital banking where appropriate
Ensuring daily cash handling and transactions are accurate and aligned with bank policy
Keeping compliance front of mind, managing risk and maintaining secure cash processes
Working as part of a supportive team that values collaboration, contribution and shared success

This is more than a banking role, it’s about helping real people, every day, in ways that matter.

Role Location: Kaikohe

Role Type: Part-time

Role Hours: 15 hours per week

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

You'll enjoy plenty of variety and interaction, with the chance to build real connections and contribute to your local community. It’s a fast-paced role where you’ll learn by doing, be supported by your team, and grow your confidence every day.

Your day will include:
Greeting customers and helping them with their day-to-day transactions
Taking the time to explain banking products in simple terms, referring customers to the right teams when needed
Managing cash flows in and out of the branch, ensuring accuracy and security
Supporting branch cash needs through smart planning and teamwork
Educating customers on digital tools to help make their banking easier
Celebrating wins with your team and sharing ideas to improve how you work together.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

We’re looking for people who care about doing right by others. You don’t need to have worked in a bank before, what matters is your attitude, willingness to learn, and a genuine focus on people.

You may bring:
A natural ability to connect with others and build trust quickly
Clear and thoughtful communication, both face-to-face and in writing
A good eye for detail, especially when it comes to processes or compliance
A team-first approach, someone who contributes, shares ideas and supports others
Confidence in navigating conversations around money or services, with empathy and care
A flexible mindset and openness to learning new systems or ways of working

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.

He aha te take e uru ai koe ki a mātou? - So, why join us?

From the moment you join ANZ, you'll be part of a work whānau striving towards a common purpose: shaping a world where communities thrive.

But it's not just our customers who'll feel your impact. You'll feel it too. Because at ANZ, you'll have the resources, opportunities, and community you need to take the next big step in your career.

We're a diverse community at ANZ in different roles, different locations, doing different things. That's why we have a range of flexible working arrangements, so our people can 'make work, work for them'. We also provide a range of benefits including access to wellbeing services and discounts on selected products and services from ANZ and more.

At ANZ you'll be part of an organisation where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated. That's because we're committed to building a workplace that reflects the diversity of Aotearoa New Zealand's communities and this is one of the reasons that has inspired us to develop a multi-year Te Ao Māori Strategy called Tākiri-Ā-Rangi. This includes increasing representation of Māori and Pasifika people at ANZ. Join us and get involved in one of our affinity networks which help us to better understand and meet the needs and interests of our increasingly diverse workforce.

Kua wātea te katoa ki te tono. We welcome applications from everyone and encourage you to talk to us about any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself. If you are a candidate with an access requirement or disability, let us know how we can provide you with additional support.

/.You can apply for this role by visiting ANZ Careers and searching for reference number 101025.
