Fisheries Deckhand- Experienced. Based in Whitianga. Posted on behalf of our client D J McLaren Fishing Ltd.
A number of full-time positions have become available for fisheries Deck Hands to serve on a medium-sized Long Line vessel for a 12-month period.
Normal deckhand duties also include setting and hauling of the lines, handling and unloading the catch, and cleaning duties for a Long Line vessel.
Ability to understand and implement bird mitigation procedures.
Experience of at least six months experience as a fisheries deckhand is essential
If you have the qualification - Advanced Deckhand - Fishing ( ADH-F ) that would be a definite advantage .
The workplace and living areas are confined.
We operate on a strictly no violence, no abuse, and no aggressive behaviour basis.
Remuneration will be based on experience and qualifications - depending on fishing results, remuneration is based on the traditional % of catch share system with a base rate of $29.60 per hour.
Must be physically strong and fit, as there is some heavy lifting involved.
You must agree to both our random drug testing program and a limited criminal police clearance process.
