Forklift Driver & Maintenance Worker

Position Available: Forklift Driver

Number of Positions Available: 3
Location: Tauranga, Bay of Plenty Region
Payrate: $30 per hour
Minimum Hours of Work Per Week: 30
Maximum Hours of Work Per Week: 40

Key Requirements:

• At least 3 years or more relevant experience
  or

• At least level 4 or above relevant qualification.

• Experience handling fresh produce or working in orchard packhouses is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to transport produce, pallets, bins, and equipment across orchard and packhouse areas

• Assist with loading/unloading and placement of materials safely and efficiently

• Perform daily safety checks and basic maintenance on the forklift

• Follow safety protocols while operating on uneven or outdoor terrain

• Coordinate with orchard supervisors to ensure smooth material handling

• Support orchard work teams with transport of mulch, fertiliser, and tools as needed

Maximum Hours of Work Per Week: 40

Key Requirements:

• At least 6 months to 1 year of relvant experience.
  or

• A relevant Level 4 or higher qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general maintenance across orchard and horticultural properties (e.g., fencing, irrigation, small machinery)

• Assist with weed control, mulching, mowing, and orchard floor management

• Operate small tools and machinery such as trimmers, blowers, sprayers, and ride-on mowers

• Identify and report hazards, equipment issues, or structural damage to supervisors

• Ensure equipment is cleaned and stored safely after use

• Follow health and safety procedures on all job sites and use PPE correctly

• Support orchard teams as required, including occasional manual labour or seasonal prep work
