What does a Gardener do, you ask?
Reporting to the Team Manager and working closely with your teammates, you'll be responsible for maintaining gardens and green spaces across the Marlborough region. Your duties will include planting, weeding, pruning, and vegetation control, as well as caring for bedding displays, rose gardens, borders, and shrubbery. You'll ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard, working to a well-organised schedule that prioritises the safety of clients, community members, your team, and yourself!
Who We're Looking For:
Ideally, we'd love someone with hands-on gardening experience or a qualification in horticulture, however that's advantageous, not essential. What really matters is having a solid work ethic, a passion for working outdoors, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. Other qualities we seek include:
- A full, current driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
- A level 3 or Level 4 National Certificate of Horticulture and current GrowSafe certifications are highly desirable
- A sense of responsibility and ownership over your work, while being a team player who's always ready to help your mates
- An understanding of health and safety practices relevant to the job
- Great communication skills, with the ability to engage with the public if needed
- A motivated, can-do attitude, and the drive to see the job through

We offer full time staff guaranteed work hours with the ability to increase based on operational demands. We also offer a performance-based salary that is reviewed annually, and an annual wellness benefit of $300 after the qualifying period is completed.
