Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
At Chorus, we’re entering an exciting new chapter - one where data plays a central role in shaping our future. We’re looking for a visionary, people-focused leader to join us as Head of Data & Analytics. This is a rare opportunity to shape and lead a modern, enterprise-wide data capability that powers smarter decision-making, drives innovation, and lifts performance across the organisation.
You’ll lead our Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence, a newly created team of 20+ professionals (including 6 direct reports), and embed a culture of data-driven thinking across Chorus. This is your chance to influence the impact of Data & Analytics at the highest levels of the organisation while building something from the ground up - from refining and iterating the capability roadmap for analytics and governance , to championing data products, and unleashing advanced analytics and AI.
Reporting directly to our Chief Operating Officer, you’ll work closely with the Executive Team, Board, and senior leaders across the business. This is a role that blends people leadership, enterprise influence, and technical credibility. It’s perfect for someone who thrives on complexity, understands the power of culture, and wants to be part of something meaningful.

Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience
You’re a confident and future-focused data leader, with a track record of leading enterprise transformation and building trust across diverse stakeholders. You’ve done the hard yards, know how to deliver at scale, and can bring teams and senior leaders on the journey.
We’re looking for:
- 8+ years’ experience in enterprise data and analytics, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
- Proven experience leading large, diverse teams (ideally 20+), including other leaders in complex and fast-paced environments
- Deep understanding of enterprise-wide data capability , and governance best practices and processes .
- Demonstrated success in delivering data product roadmaps, embedding data stewardship, and lifting data literacy across the business
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools, such as Snowflake, Tableau, DBT, and AWS
- Exposure to advanced analytics and AI capability and their potential to drive business value and impact
- Exposure with Adaptive ways of working, including Agile and cross-functional collaboration models
- A track record of navigating regulated, complex environments such as telco, utilities, or other large-scale enterprises preferred
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills—able to influence at executive and board level
- A collaborative, people-first leadership style, with a deep belief in coaching, team culture, and empowering others to grow
