The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko is an independent Crown entity that regulates the electricity market. We are a kaitiaki of electricity, and our purpose is to enhance New Zealanders' lives, prosperity, and environment through electricity.

About the role
As Head of People and Capability, you'll lead a high-impact function, shape and deliver people strategies that align with our organisational goals. As a trusted business partner to the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership team, you'll play a key role in driving initiatives that support our people throughout their journey at the Authority.
Key responsibilities
You will support the organisation through:
- developing and delivering people strategies aligned with organisational goals
- providing trusted advice to the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership team on matters of organisational culture and performance, employee engagement, and leadership development
- high-quality leadership, change management, and professional development across the organisation
- promoting a positive, inclusive, and values-based culture
Are you someone with the following?
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing People and Capability strategies that enhance organisational performance
- Strong systems thinking and strategic planning experience, with the ability to align people strategies with organisational goals
- Demonstrated ability to lead organisational and cultural change effectively and empathetically
- Comfort operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments, and the agility to adapt and lead through complexity
- Minimum of three years' experience leading a People and Capability function
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compliance, and HR best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
