About the Role
We are seeking a flexible, proactive and dedicated Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team in the Surgical Assessment and Planning Unit (SAPU).
As an HCA, you will provide essential care and support to patients, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing. You - ll work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in a respectful and person-centred way. Common duties include assisting patient with activities of daily living, restocking of clinical supplies, reporting concern and hazards, and maintain a safe and clean and environment.
Qualifications:
- Level 3 NZQA National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent
- Current NZ working Visa/residency or a NZ Citizen
- Relevant working experience
About the Team/Service Location
SAPU is currently located in Ward 4 South and comprises 8 beds, 4 chairs, and 2 assessment rooms. We operate in a fast-paced, acute care environment dedicated to assessment, planning, treatment, and short-stay admissions.
Our team of Registered Nurses is small, close-knit, and made up of enthusiastic, passionate, and adaptable professionals. We place a strong emphasis on teamwork and are committed to working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver the best possible health outcomes for our patients and their whānau. SAPU also works in close partnership with other hospital departments to enhance patient flow across the facility.
