Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Business Partner - Nutrient Management to play a pivotal role in fostering a strong safety culture across a diverse operational environment, ranging from dairy and dry stock farming and cultivating to transport and by-product distribution.

You will support implementation of Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) plans, be responsible for monitoring activities and support the continuous improvement of health and safety practices to enable compliance, minimise risks, and promote employee well-being.
  • Collaborate with regional managers and the lead team to meet safety objectives.
  • Analyse event trending and support the management of incidents and contractors within Health and Safety Management System.
  • Conduct investigations and learning reviews to develop preventive measures.
  • Plan and track HSW strategies across weekly, monthly, and quarterly timelines and present insights.
  • Support regional and Business Unit teams by leading and supporting HSW plan activities.
  • Review and adapt business HSW processes to align to diverse operational environments where required.
  • Ability to learn and support the use of business digital support systems.
  • Commit to travel across North and South Islands to support the business needs. This will be supported by a company vehicle.

We are seeking a practical, relationship-driven individual with a passion for HSW, a person who thrives in diverse environments and embraces challenges. You will excel in building meaningful connections, adapting to varied work environments, tailoring health and safety strategies and processes to align with unique operational needs.

You will have:
  • Strong collaborative skills to engage with stakeholders across varied levels.
  • Ability to implement adaptive HSW strategies in diverse settings.
  • Understanding HSW practices, ideally with the ability to adapt to a non-manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical mindset to investigate and learn from incidents and trends to develop robust preventive measures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across North and South Islands.
  • Experience in farming industry practices and heavy vehicle operations will be advantageous.
