Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We’re looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Partner to champion high standards of health, safety and wellbeing across the Agency. In this role, you’ll provide expert advice, drive continuous improvement, and embed a proactive safety culture across varied operational environments.
You will:
- Be the key contact for HSW across assigned groups and regions
- Support risk and control management, action plans, and incident investigations
- Implement HSW policies and standards
- Deliver monthly performance reports and trend analysis
- Engage with internal teams and external partners to strengthen HSW practices
- Promote wellbeing programmes and initiatives across the organisation
- Travel to project sites in your region to engage with local teams and be an advisor

Ko koe tēnei | About you
You’ll bring:
- Subject matter expertise in Health, Safety and Wellbeing
- Experience with HSW management systems and safety investigations
- Experience in working with contractors and third parties
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to present at leadership meetings and influence decision-making
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Diploma or Certification in Health and Safety (or working towards it)
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public service.
