Pūmanawa Tangata Human Resources sits within Enterprise Services, a branch dedicated to working together to drive the Department of Internal Affairs to excel for New Zealanders.

About the job:
- The HR Business Partner role is key to building leadership capability and supporting DIA to be a high performing organisation and a great place to work.
- The role provides strategic HR advice to 2 Deputy Secretaries and their senior leadership teams to support them to lead their branches and business groups to meet their strategic business objectives.
- The successful candidate will have strategic HR capability and the ability to work in partnership with senior leaders to develop and implement branch specific people and workforce strategies and initiatives. You will be able to acquire essential business understanding quickly.
- The position is also part of the HR leadership team and is responsible for actively contributing to the success of the Pūmanawa Tangata team to be highly capable, responsive, collaborative, cohesive and customer-centric.
Skills required:
The right candidate for this meaningful, dynamic role will have proven experience in a strategic HR role(s) in a complex environment. You will have sound knowledge and broad experience across HR disciplines including: strategy development, employee relations, change management, organisational development and workforce management. You will also demonstrate proven ability to quickly build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders and will have high levels of adaptability and resilience.
Other requirements:
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources management or related discipline is preferred.
