The Regulatory Services Group, leads and influences two key regulatory systems for Aotearoa. In the gambling system we deliver community wellbeing through reducing gambling related harms; and in the anti-money laundering (AML) system we protect the trust in the financial systems of Aotearoa.

We are a responsive risk-based regulator focused on reducing harm, and ensuring that iwi, hapu and communities across Aotearoa are safe, resilient, and thriving.

The opportunity:

We are looking for an Intelligence Coordinator to come join our Intelligence team. As a pivotal function for our team, our Intelligence Coordinator works across various systems and information sources to identify and triage risks, support our intelligence analysts, collect and collate information, and work alongside our stakeholders. Your work will directly contribute to operational and strategic decision-making across our regulatory systems.

Key to your success in the role will be your familiarity with analysing data and information, critical thinking to identify trends and risks, your initiative and innovation, and a collaborative approach to support our intelligence analysts developing tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence outputs. Working collaboratively in teams, across the business, and with a range of partner agencies, your effective and influential engagement skills will be important.

About you:

The experience, knowledge, and skills you will bring to this position will be:

  • Experience extracting and analysing quantitative and qualitative information from various sources
  • Ability to research, collect and conduct preliminary analysis to identify and highlight emerging trends, issues and risks
  • Comfort working with various software and information management tools
  • Sound judgement to triage information, requests, and identify risk
  • Strong initiative with a proactive and innovative mindset
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships
  • Ability to communicate clearly to a range of audiences, in written and verbal format
  • A passion for continuous improvement, with strong planning and task prioritisation skills.
  • Familiarity with intelligence is desired
