We are looking for a full time Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our team. Although our offices are in Tauranga and Wellington, we are a remote first company and engineers located anywhere in New Zealand are encouraged to apply. You will be a key member of our product development team, leading test automation efforts and quality assurance processes to ensure continuous improvement of our QA efforts across our ever expanding product offering.

What you’ll do…

  • Independently lead and collaborate with our engineering team to design and implement automated testing frameworks / tools
  • Perform strategic manual and exploratory testing for complex scenarios and areas where automation isn’t feasible or cost-effective
  • Research industry best practices and champion continued adoption of our automated testing strategy
  • Delivering automated tests and related artifacts using a range of modern tools in a time-constrained environment
  • Collaborate with team members – including product managers to understand test scenarios, acceptance criteria and scope to complete testing using both manual and automated techniques.
  • Complete Peer Review of pull requests for others in areas that are well known / understood
  • Active participation in planning, automation prioritisation, daily stand ups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Knowledge sharing, upskilling, and contributing to the growth of your peers and other team members
  • Inspire confidence in QA activities and lead change and improvements

What you’ll need…

  • At least 12 months experience mentoring / leading other QA / developer resources
  • Strong test development skillset (.NET, javascript)
  • 5+ years experience with test automation using tools such as Playwright, Specflow, etc
  • Competency using Visual Studio and Git source control
  • Demonstrated capability in testing web API + UI and mobile applications
  • Experience testing Microsoft Azure / Amazon AWS / SaaS solutions
  • Experience working in an Agile project delivery environment and daily releases
  • Performance testing experience highly regarded
  • Be a self-starter, have a positive, resilient, can-do attitude, and embrace challenges
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Experienced with working with NZ companies

Beneficial Skills & Experience

  • Test experience with AI products, including AI evaluation frameworks
  • Experience in the legal sector
  • Azure DevOps experience (pipeline development)
  • Azure Infra-as-Code experience (ARM, bicep)
  • Recognised test certification is valued (e.g. ISEB, ISTQB)
