Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking a passionate, learner-centred Lecturer to deliver and develop our Master of Business Intelligence (Level 9) programme.
You will be responsible for developing the programme, teaching and supervising postgraduate students in our Master of Business Intelligence programme. This role involves curriculum delivery and development, pastoral care, research engagement, and collaboration with industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging, inclusive postgraduate-level content through face-to-face and online delivery (via Canvas LMS and MS Teams)
• Design, develop, update, and assess assessments aligned with NZQA standards
• Supervise student research and industry capstone projects
• Incorporate te reo me ngā tikanga Māori, Pasifika values, and principles of Mana Ōrite into your teaching
• Engage in scholarly research and industry-connected projects
• Facilitate guest lectures, field trips, and build industry connections to support real-world learning
Ko koe tēnei | About you
You are a reflective educator with a deep commitment to learner success. You bring a strong academic background, industry-relevant experience, and a passion for innovative pedagogy in business intelligence.
You will have:
• A PhD Business, Technology or similar
• Active involvement in research, ideally in Big Data, AWS, Machine Learning or Computer Science
• Minimum tertiary-level teaching experience (Level 9 or above) in New Zealand
• Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ability to embed its principles in your teaching
• Experience with NZQA programme design, assessment, and moderation
• Diploma (Level 6) or NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5)or willingness to work towards one
• Industry experience working as Business Analyst or similar
