He angitūtanga: The opportunity
An opportunity has arisen to work in the Ōrākei Local Board as a Libraries and Council Services Assistant.
This role is based at St Heliers Library (on-site) but will require flexibility to work across two sites within the local board, the other being Remuera Library.
This is a permanent part-time position of 20 hours per week which includes the weekends, requiring flexibility to work weekends and late nights, as our services are open 7 days per week. This position requires availability for weekend shifts, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as one weekday.
We are looking for:
- An enthusiasm for serving our community, making our customers feel welcome and providing wonderful customer service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine interest in working with children as being able to participate in delivering story times and children’s activities is a must
- An ability to develop a rapport with our customers, build relationships and work collaboratively
- A sound knowledge of library technologies and processes
- A flexible and collaborative approach to working
- A strong interest and awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is required
