Waimakariri Libraries are looking for a tech-savvy and community-minded Library Programme & Discovery Assistant to help shape the future of libraries in our diverse and rapidly growing hapori | community.
In this pivotal role, you’ll design and deliver inclusive, high-quality programmes and experiences that foster lifelong learning, creativity, connection, and discovery.
You’ll facilitate both self-directed and guided opportunities that support personal growth, digital confidence, and vocational capability, while delivering responsive, welcoming front-line service.
Working closely with colleagues, schools, and community groups, you’ll connect people with resources, ideas, and each other—making the library a vibrant hub for all.
Waimakariri Libraries currently have a makerspace with 3D printer, craft cutter, and a sewing suite. We also offer Code Club, Robotics Club and are in the process of developing a podcasting programme. To thrive in this role, you have work experience or skills in these areas. You also bring energy, empathy, and strong communication skills, along with experience in learning facilitation, community engagement, or programme delivery. A commitment to inclusion, cultural awareness, and a passion for helping others learn and grow are essential.
