Tenei turanga - About the Role:

Mediators play a critical role under the provisions of the Residential Tenancies Act 1986. The key activities of the role are to work in partnership with the rest of our dispute resolution team to provide expert problem-solving support, information and assistance to landlords and tenants, to resolve problems in any aspect of a tenancy relationship, with the objective of helping people to reach an agreed settlement and to assist in improving the relationship between the landlords and tenants.

Tenancy mediators also work with body corporates and unit title property owners in respect of disputes filed under the Unit Titles Act 2010.

You will enjoy working in an often fast paced and dynamic environment utilising a range of different approaches in your practice to meet our client's service needs. This will include a mix of telephone mediation work coupled with in-person, and videoconference delivery of mediation.

As a result of significant changes in the residential tenancy environment and feedback received from our customers, we are looking to support our customers more actively. We aim to provide a more customer centric service which focuses on giving customers access to information early in the dispute resolution process and support in navigating the right pathway for them along their dispute resolution journey.
