AQUA FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
Permanent Part-Time | Te Puna o Whakaehu (Dunedin City Council)

We're looking for an energetic and confident Aqua Fitness Instructor to lead fun, motivating, and inclusive water-based fitness classes at Te Puna o Whakaehu - part of the Dunedin City Council's network of vibrant, community-focused facilities.
What's on offer:
- A permanent part-time position delivering one aqua fitness class each week
- Tuesdays, 9:00am-11:00am (2 hours paid)
- Based at Te Puna o Whakaehu in Mosgiel
- Potential to pick up additional shifts in the future, including at Moana Pool
- Pay rate: Living Wage - currently $27.80 per hour + applicable allowances
What you'll do:
As our Aqua Fitness Instructor, you will:
- Deliver energetic, motivating aqua fitness classes for a wide range of participants
- Plan and adapt sessions to meet client needs and align with DCC Pools' fitness and aquatic programme goals
- Provide encouragement, guidance, and excellent customer service to support clients in achieving their fitness objectives
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants
- Contribute to continuous improvement by gathering and responding to participant feedback

We're looking for someone who:
- Brings a positive, engaging presence and enjoys working with people
- Feels confident leading group sessions and can guide participants both in and out of the pool
- Has strong communication and customer service skills
- Can adapt classes to suit a range of ages and abilities in a welcoming and inclusive way
Experience in group fitness or aquatics is a plus, but not essential - we'll provide full training for the right person.
