We are committed to providing equal opportunity for everyone and welcoming people of all backgrounds, identities, experiences, abilities, and life stage.

About the Role

CSR is a market leader in innovative building solutions across residential and commercial markets, with strong brands including Potters and CSR Building Products. In New Zealand, we deliver both interior and exterior solutions, with a diverse portfolio that spans multiple categories.

We're focused on gaining market share through early-stage specification, ensuring our products are embedded into the DNA of major national projects before they break ground.

You'll lead a team of six Specification Managers across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, building strategic relationships with top-tier architects, builders, and developers to secure CSR products in large-scale projects.

This is both a leadership and commercial role - responsible for pipeline management, market influence, and ensuring the highest standard of technical engagement with the design and construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing national specification team.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with leading architectural and design firms.
  • Drive the national specification strategy to increase market share and revenue.
  • Oversee the national project pipeline and forecast with accuracy.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality technical presentations to architects and consultants.
  • Monitor market trends to identify and capitalise on new opportunities.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Champion the use of CRM and ensure accurate project tracking and reporting.
  • Lead the effective handover of specified projects to sales teams for execution.
  • Promote WHSE compliance and best practice.

About You

You're an accomplished leader in architectural specification or technical sales, with the ability to inspire teams, influence senior stakeholders, and convert opportunities into results. You bring a blend of commercial acumen, market insight, and people leadership.

We're looking for:

  • Proven success in specification sales, ideally within the NZ building sector.
  • Experience managing multi-site or national teams.
  • Strong technical understanding of product specification and project lifecycles.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with architects, designers, and developers.
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial judgment.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and project tracking.
  • Experience winning specifications for large commercial, government, or infrastructure projects.
  • Auckland-based (preferred).

What's on Offer

  • High-impact, national leadership role.
  • Competitive salary, STI 10% + company vehicle.
  • Opportunity to lead major growth initiatives in a dynamic, integrated business.
  • Work alongside a high-performing technical and sales leadership team.

What we also offer

We strive to support your professional and personal growth. Here are some of the perks you'll enjoy as part of the CSR team:

  • Attractive salary and benefits, including access to exclusive discounts and offers.

  • Supportive and collaborative culture that fosters innovation and inclusion. You'll be surrounded by talented colleagues who are passionate about their work and committed to helping each other succeed.

  • Care and wellbeing offer includes up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave, 52 weeks of superannuation payment, and access to an employee assistance program.

  • Rewarding career with on-the-job learning, development, and upskilling opportunities within and across our brands
