About the role:
You will directly influence the next generation of aspiring fitness leaders within New Zealand, as you share your experience, skills and training with students from many backgrounds. In this role, you will be in an energetic online asynchronous learning environment where value is placed on delivering outcomes and student engagement in our Personal Training Level 4 programme.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Connect with students through facilitated asynchronous delivery: through our platform’s forums, messaging and live sessions.
- Deliver assessments and grade assessments: ensuring students are evaluated to prescribed national and local qualification standards
- Participate in the continuous improvement of course content and learning resources
- Be available to give subject related support to your Online students, in a caring and encouraging manner via our Online learning platform and Online communication channels
- Keep records of accurate student data, assessment results, student participation, student-at-risk and other required documentation
- Provide basic pastoral care and support to the students.
This is a fully remote full-time permanent role and we are open to candidates from anywhere within New Zealand.
About you:
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable individual with a strong background and knowledge with Personal Training, specifically to teach our Certificate in Exercise (Level 4) Online programme.
In this role, you will also help students grow their knowledge of anatomy & physiology, exercise prescription, working with special populations clients and much more. Your own experience will bring theory to life for our online students.
You must be enthusiastic, positive, patient, and a motivated self-starter who has a passion for sharing knowledge and trying new things. Your exceptional communication and time management skills, along with the ability to connect and build relationships will be the key to your success!
You don’t need any experience in teaching, we will provide you with comprehensive learning, and support teaching tools to become successful in your online tutor role:
Key Requirements:
- Hold at a minimum Level 5 qualification in personal training, sports/exercise, or related field
- Proven professional experience in personal training/sports/exercise
- Ideally have experience and expertise in delivery of some or all of the following subject areas: Exercise Prescription, Nutrition Anatomy and Physiology, Special populations, Customer care and ethics, Fitness testing, Business of personal training.
- Strong digital literacy with competency in Microsoft 365 Suite
- A keenness to expand your adult teaching skillset as part of your professional development.
- Prior teaching experience is not essential but highly advantageous
- Commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
