Shift days and hours: Monday – Friday, 06.30am – 3.00pm
About the role - Mō te tūranga
As our Operations Supervisor in Palmerston North, you’ll be at the heart of our freight and parcel operations — driving performance, leading a high-energy team, and ensuring every delivery hits the mark. From coordinating daily freight movements to motivating staff and smashing KPIs, this role is all about making things happen.
Additionally, you will:
- Oversee day-to-day freight operations to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of freight operators and handlers
- Monitor and manage operational KPIs including DIFOT and scanning compliance
- Plan and allocate resources effectively using tools like TMS and Power BI
- Resolve customer issues and consignment delays with a proactive approach
- Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with H&S procedures
- Manage aged consignments and implement FIFO strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to maintain service excellence

We’re looking for a confident, capable leader who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment. You’ll be someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and knows how to get the best out of a team.
You’ll also bring:
- Proven experience in transport or logistics operations (3–5 years preferred)
- Strong leadership experience, ideally with 5+ years managing teams
- A proactive, safety-first mindset with a solid understanding of H&S practices
- Excellent planning and organisational skills — you know how to juggle priorities
- Confidence using operational tools and systems (e.g. TMS, Power BI)
- A customer-first attitude with strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to coach, develop and motivate a diverse team
- A collaborative, can-do approach and a drive to exceed KPIs
