Job Description
We have an opportunity for an Operator to join the team at the West Auckland Resource Recovery Transfer Station in a full-time role.
About the role
In this role, you will have the responsibility of collecting, sorting and disposing of waste and recyclable material and ensuring the effective MRF operations are carried out in accordance with client requirements and company procedures.
- Control the placement of waste and recyclables being deposited by customers
- Operate onsite plant and equipment as/if required
- Direct traffic and provide general information to customers
- Maintain all buildings, grounds, roadways, and landscaping in a clean and tidy condition
- Undertake general labouring duties as required
- Assist with general administration, completing all records and paperwork as directed
Qualifications
- Experience in the waste industry or production line work (desirable)
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Minimum of Class 1 driver's license with wheels (W) and tracks (T) endorsements.
- Mechanical Aptitude (desirable)
- Good awareness of safety
- Demonstrate a high quality of service
