Full time permanent PAINTER requires for our busy company. The minimum work hour will be 30 hours per week and maximum will be 50 hours per week. The minimum wage is $30.00 ph and maximum wages will be $35.00ph. Candidate should pass a background check and be physically fit. New Zealand citizen or resident will be preferable. Please mention if you are a NZ resident or citizen.
Tasks Include:
- Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
- Erecting scaffolding and ladders, and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering
- Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
- preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces
- Mixing and applying paints, varnishes, and sealants for a lasting finish.
- Selecting and preparing paints to required colours by mixing portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying additives
- Keeping the workspace and tools clean.
- applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
- Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges
- Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
- cleaning equipment and work areas
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
- May repair windows and replace glass in wooden and metal frames
- Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Two years relevant experience.
- Applicant must mention if he is a New Zealand resident or citizen.
