People Coordinator

Financial Markets Authority
Auckland, Auckland
Full time

Are you ready to grow your HR career in a role where no two days are the same? Would you like to be part of a collaborative and supportive team who also like to have fun? Join the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) and help us deliver an exceptional experience for our people.

Ko wai mātou | Who we are

The FMA is New Zealand's financial conduct regulator. Our job? To make sure markets are fair, investors are protected, and confidence in our financial system stays strong.

Te tūranga | The role

Due to an internal promotion, we're on the look out for a People Coordinator. You'll be the go-to person for coordination and support across the People function, working closely with our HR Business Partnering, Talent and Organisational Development teams. From onboarding and payroll liaison to supporting key people initiatives, you'll keep things running seamlessly and play a key role in making FMA a great place to work. Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Coordinate core People processes - onboarding, payroll, HRIS updates, reporting and drafting employment documentation.
  • Support annual people initiatives like remuneration, performance, engagement and wellbeing programmes.
  • Own the induction experience for new starters.
  • Assist with Health, Safety & Wellbeing events, training and committee support.
  • Help drive Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives and networks.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and compliance.

Ō pūkenga | About you

You'll be a team player, bringing strong organisation skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities with ease. Specifically, we're looking for:

  • Experience in HR Coordination or Administration within an office environment.
  • A proactive problem solver with sharp attention to detail.
  • Fantastic communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word in particular).

Ngā painga | What we offer

We're proud to offer a workplace where you can thrive professionally and personally. Our benefits include:

  • 4% employer KiwiSaver contribution.
  • Additional paid leave during the Christmas period.
  • Health & life insurance.
  • Hybrid working (2 days WFH).
  • The option to swap public holidays for days that hold personal significance.
  • Robust learning and development opportunities.

At FMA you'll be part of a supportive, values-driven team where your contribution matters. You'll gain exposure to the full HR lifecycle, learn from experienced People professionals, and help shape a workplace that makes a real impact on New Zealand's financial markets.
