As a Platform Owner within BNZ Technology, you will maximise the value delivered by the platform team, ensuring alignment with customer needs, stakeholder expectations, and BNZ’s strategic goals. Serving as the team’s advocate and main link with stakeholders, you’ll drive the development of robust, scalable platform solutions that deliver sustainable business outcomes.

What are some day-to-day tasks the successful candidate in this role will complete?
- Platform Roadmaps: Define and communicate a clear platform vision and strategy aligned with BNZ’s strategic goals, driving the platform team towards operational excellence.
- People Leadership: Lead Business Analysts through all employee lifecycle stages—attraction, recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding. Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability to drive performance and alignment with business goals.
- Customer-Centricity: Utilise customer insights and foster collaboration between the platform team and end users to guide informed platform decisions that meet evolving needs.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Apply data analysis and metrics to support decisions that enhance platform reliability, performance, and usability.
- Prioritization: Prioritise platform enhancements based on customer value, business impact, and resources, ensuring application management aligns with the Critical Hygiene Framework.
What technical skills are required for this role?
- Product Ownership Experience: Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, ideally in platform products.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development processes and platform architecture.
- Backlog Management: Expertise in creating, prioritising, and managing a product backlog effectively.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use data and KPIs to inform prioritisation and product decisions.
- Agile Methodologies: Proficient in agile practices, including sprint planning and user story development.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Skilled at aligning with and managing expectations of key stakeholders.
What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
Your goal will be to provide an innovative user experience to bankers, enabling intuitive access to customer data, servicing, and fulfilment tools. You'll develop the bnzGO platform in collaboration with three other platform teams in the Assisted Experience portfolio.
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?
The most challenging aspect of this opportunity is navigating the multiple technology platforms our bankers use and the complexity of certain banking products and services. It requires real determination to understand how to transition from the current state to our envisioned future. However, this challenge presents a significant opportunity to make a real difference and we are looking for an individual who is eager to embrace it.
What will success look like for the candidate in this role?
Success in this role will be demonstrated by effectively driving the platform team towards operational excellence, ensuring alignment with customer needs, stakeholder expectations, and BNZ’s strategic goals. The candidate will also be successful in promoting a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability, and ensuring platform stability, scalability, security, and compliance.
