Mō mātou | About us
The Inland Revenue Policy group is based in Wellington and advises Government on a range of tax and social policy issues. We research and develop policy options, and present policy recommendations to senior officials and Ministers. Unlike other policy shops, we also prepare our own legislation arising from those policy recommendations and our advisors support it through the legislative process.
We are looking for L2 policy advisors for our general policy teams and the Economics and Stewardship team.
Our general policy teams develop policy on critical aspects of the tax system including relating to tax administration, income tax and indirect tax.
The Economics and Stewardship team uses economic frameworks and analysis to provide advice on tax and social policies with significant economic impact. The team also takes a stewardship perspective to the tax system – looking into the future to ensure that our tax system stays fit for purpose.
At Inland Revenue Te Tari Taake we’re passionate about Aotearoa New Zealand being a great place to live and work. We’re making it simpler for everyone to pay tax that pays for things like health care, education and protecting the environment.
We are committed to keeping to the Treaty of Waitangi's guiding principles in our work for and with Māori customers and our employees, their whānau, hapū and iwi.
IR is committed to building an inclusive workplace free from inequalities, where all our people are valued, respected and feel supported to reach their full potential.
