Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for public service and a deep understanding of ministerial and executive processes? We're looking for an experienced Principal Advisor to join our Ministerial and Executive Services team and help shape the way we deliver high-quality advice and support to Ministers and senior leaders.
About the role
As Principal Advisor, you will play a critical leadership role in ensuring the quality, consistency, and timeliness of ministerial correspondence, briefings, and official information responses. You'll provide strategic advice, lead complex work programmes, and support continuous improvement across the team. You'll also act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and contribute to cross-agency collaboration and best practice.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high-level advice on ministerial servicing, official correspondence, and executive support.
- Lead and quality-assure complex and sensitive ministerial responses and briefings.
- Support the development and implementation of systems and processes that enhance service delivery.
- Mentor and support team members, contributing to a high-performing and collaborative team culture.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Ministerial offices and other government agencies.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience in ministerial servicing, public sector policy, or executive support at a senior level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail.
- Strong political nous and the ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to influence and lead across teams.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality public service.
