About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a registered Social Worker to provide Professional Leadership for the Social Worker profession across the inpatient, community and paediatric settings at Health New Zealand -Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui. The successful applicant would be responsible for workforce development of Social Workers and liaising with operational managers to ensure high quality patient care and equity focused health outcomes liaising with the Social Work Professional Lead for Mental Health.
The successful applicant will be responsible for clinical assurance including facilitating consistent standards of practice amongst Social Workers, ensuring effective use of evidence based, safe and competent practice and supporting managers across services on issues related to Dietetics. The Social Work Professional Lead will provide advice on workforcA and organisational priorities, including where the role of the social work would enhance the delivery of effective health services for our population. The role will advise and contribute to policies and care pathways in regards to models of care and treatment.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with other Professional Leaders, Team Leaders, Managers Directors of Allied Health and other related positions across the wider health system to support and develop opportunities for Social Workers. You will work with a number of specialists both internally and externally, so you will need the ability to maintain excellent working relationships with these groups of people.

About you
You are a New Zealand registered Social Worker with relevant experience who thrives both autonomously and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. You will have a strong clinical background, be self-motivated, a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator and a team player with commitment to quality, excellence and professional development.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- Bachelor/Masters of Social Work, or equivalent. New Zealand Registered Social Worker, with current annual practising certificate (APC).
- Minimum 6 years practice working in a health or other relevant setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and success leading, motivating and developing others.
