The role
We are seeking an experienced accounts professional to join a small and collaborative team working across the full purchase-to-payments cycle. You will primarily be focused on accounts payable activities and will be cross-trained to provide back-up and support for purchasing activities and other accounts administration duties.
Responsibilities
As a Purchasing and Payables Administrator you will ensure payments are made accurately and in a timely manner. Your role involves:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date supplier records
- Verifying and processing supplier invoices, ensuring all entries are correctly recorded
- Processing weekly settlement runs
- Engaging directly with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and discrepancies
- Providing support and training to GNS staff
About you
The ideal candidate will be ready to hit the ground running and will have:
- At least two years’ of accounts experience, covering the full purchase to payment cycle
- Good understanding of accounting principles, GST compliance, and financial management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- A very high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven problem-solving skills and a customer focus.
- Highly organised with excellent time management ability and the ability to prioritise tasks.

This is a permanent, full-time position (38 hours per week) and is based at our campus in Avalon, Lower Hutt.
The salary range for this position is between $70,844 to $76,176 depending on the successful candidate’s experience.
