About your team / Ko te tima

The Inspectorate at WorkSafe New Zealand plays a critical role in workplace health and safety. The Inspectorate's overall goal is to prevent workplace harm, promote a culture of health and safety, and hold organisations accountable for maintaining healthy and safe working conditions.

Guided by evidence about acute, chronic, and catastrophic harm, WorkSafe prioritise high-risk sectors and high-risk activities. Across these priority areas, WorkSafe deliver enforcement, engagement and permitting activities to maximise our influence and achieve better, more equitable outcomes.

About the role / O te turanga

This role provides operational support to the Regional Manager, helping to ensure the efficient management of regional operations. It involves proactively identifying the Regional Manager's needs, assisting in monitoring regional performance, managing risks, and collaborating with key stakeholders and partners as required.

This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Regional Manager has access to accurate information to assist with strategic decisions. Strong communication skills are essential-not just for presenting data effectively, but for asking the right questions, building relationships with teams, and ensuring the insights provided are relevant and impactful.

What You'll Do/ Ko tou ake mahi

  • Support the Regional Manager and regional teams by ensuring they have accurate, up-to-date information for confident decision making
  • Work closely with the National Sector Planning team and regional project teams to provide coordination and administrative support
  • Collate, format, and present information in a clear and accessible way, making key data seamless to access
  • Help monitor regional performance and identify trends to inform future actions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new tools and systems for tracking and reporting on regional performance
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through smarter use of data and better visibility of insights

Salary range / Awhe utu

As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $80,037 to $105,342, and our expected starting base salary for the right person is from $80,037 to $88,471. Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
