About the Role

As Regional Group Manager - Investment & Partnerships, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the infrastructure investment landscape across the Central Region within our Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG). As a senior leader you will drive strategic capital investment and partnership initiatives that directly shape the future of healthcare delivery in Aotearoa.

Reporting to the Regional Head of Infrastructure, you will lead the planning and investment functions in close collaboration with the national planning and investment team. Your leadership will ensure the consistent application of IIG's policies, strategies, and standards across all regional investment activities. Your role will oversee a significant portfolio of multimillion-dollar capital investments, guiding regional infrastructure planning to align to both national and regional priorities and needs.

You will enable high performing teams, fostering regional partnership, and ensuring that investment decisions are equitable, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of our communities helping to transform Aotearoa's health system. This is a unique opportunity to influence long-term health system transformation, ensuring that every investment contributes to a healthier, more resilient Aotearoa.

About the Team/Service

The IIG team are focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders

About you

You are a strategic and influential leader with a proven track record in senior management within large, complex organisations. You'll bring your expertise in operational management, investment planning, and partnership development, and you're passionate about driving transformational change in the health infrastructure landscape.

Your leadership style is inclusive and empowering, you know how to build and support high performing teams, foster collaboration across diverse stakeholders, and champion innovation and continuous improvement.

Your financial acumen, ability to manage multimillion dollar investment portfolios, and experience in capital planning and business case development make you a trusted advisor and decision maker.

You are resilient, adaptable, and deeply committed to improving health outcomes for all New Zealanders.

You will bring:

  • Proven senior leadership in complex organisations, delivering strategic outcomes and driving operational excellence across diverse teams and functions.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement, resulting in high-impact investment decisions and enduring partnerships.
  • At least 10 years' experience leading senior staff and subject matter experts ostering high-performing teams and a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Deep understanding and experience in capital planning, investment strategy, and business case development.
  • Experience working in or with the public sector and health infrastructure ensuring alignment with government priorities and community health outcomes.
  • Practical application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga Māori, embedding equity and cultural responsiveness into investment and planning processes.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
