We’re opening a brand-new Mitre 10 MEGA in Prestons, Christchurch, and we’re looking for an experienced Retail Manager to lead our Retail departments and drive service excellence. This is a key leadership role focused on empowering our team, maximising sales, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This a 42.5 hours per week position and will include a permanent weekend rostered shift.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of our retail departments
- Drive customer service excellence and ensure a seamless shopping experience.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and peers to achieve store goals and profitability.
- Manage stock, merchandising, promotions, and retail service delivery.
- Support recruitment, rostering, and performance management in your zone.
- Actively participate in Duty Management and key holding responsibilities.
- Coach and develop your team to deliver epic customer experiences.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, store policies, and legislative requirements.
- Maintain high merchandise presentation standards and operational efficiency.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven leadership experience in a retail environment.
- Ability to coach, motivate, and empower teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
- Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., Fair Trading Act, Consumer Guarantees Act).
- IT competency and familiarity with retail systems.
- A passion for home improvement and helping customers with their projects.
