Risk Analyst
Location : Auckland / Wellington
Description
The Risk Analyst role is a second line of defence position focused on proactively managing risk by identifying, assessing, and reporting on the risks faced by the business and assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls in place to mitigate those risks.
Job specification
Support the business to proactively manage risk by identifying, assessing, and reporting risk and controls (adequacy and effectiveness)
Support testing and reporting on adequacy/effectiveness of key risks and identification of control mitigation and oversight of implementation of controls within timelines
Ensure local risk reporting is escalated through the Risk Function to ensure accurate and timely Enterprise Risk Management reporting at a Group level
Providing advice, training and support to the first line operations, IT and client relationship teams
Co-ordinating internal and external audits and overseeing the business implementation of any remediation required
Analysis of incidents and control breaches to identify areas of systematic control weakness
Management of the business Risk and Control Profile and associated Risk assessments
Managing the controls testing schedule and reporting of impact of any control deficiencies on the business risk profile
Support maintenance and oversight of adherence to key policies and procedures on risk management
Skills Required:
A relevant Tertiary qualification.
Experience working in second line of defence.
Understanding of risk frameworks in a Financial Services context.
Team player who is prepared to both lead and follow, assisting others when required.
