Mo te tunga | About the role

As the Senior Adviser Monitoring Agency Relationships, your key responsibilities will be co-ordinating and responding to official correspondence from the Departments external monitoring agencies. You will need to maintain active communication with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations managed. You will also ensure work outputs are of a high quality and contribute effectively to the Monitoring Agency Relationship teams service delivery.

Some of your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Interacting with the Departments external monitoring agencies such as the Privacy Commission, the Office of the Ombudsman, the Health and Disability Commission, the Human Rights Commission as well as others
  • Consulting across the Department's multiple sites, asking questions, joining dots and analysing information from internal and external stakeholders
  • Utilising your excellent writing skills to draft official Department responses
  • Managing relationships with external monitoring entities and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting senior leaders' visibility of monitoring agency recommendations

Flexible working arrangements are possible, although the ability to be present at National Office on occasion will likely be required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and maintain a broad range of strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including using and interpreting complex information and drawing conclusions.
  • Experience in managing and prioritising workload to deliver outcomes within timeframes.
  • Proven ability to use initiative
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to encourage and lead cooperative efforts, identifying and managing potential areas of conflict.
  • Demonstrated ability to act in a collaborative manner and contribute as an effective and influential team member.

Nga painga | The benefits

The midpoint of the salary range is $119,013 and the full range (85%-120%) is $101,162 - $142,816. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
