About this role | Mo tenei turanga
As a Senior Advisor in Te Ranga Taunaki, you will play a key role in supporting iwi and Maori to create and lead their own education solutions. You'll bring your design expertise and understanding of te ao Maori to help shape services that give practical effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You'll work across multidisciplinary teams to support the mobilisation of iwi and Maori co-designed initiatives. You will contribute to frameworks and tools that support authentic partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about equitable outcomes for akonga Maori.

Salary range: $84,425 - $102,271 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mohou ake
We're looking for a passionate and skilled individual who brings strong kaupapa Maori design thinking, deep fluency in te reo Maori and a commitment to Te Tiriti-based practice.
Essential Skill and Experience:
- High fluency and proficiency in te reo Maori (both verbal and written) is essential, enabling confident engagement in Maori language environments and ensuring te reo Maori is upheld with mana in all communications
- Experience designing services using te ao Maori approaches and kaupapa Maori principles
- Demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships and bring diverse groups of people together
- A deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its implications for the work of the Ministry
- Knowledge of the New Zealand education system
- Previous experience of working in projects and with change.
- Familiarity with planning, risk management and performance management processes
- Experience liaising with, communicating to, consulting with and influencing stakeholders particularly those in kaupapa Maori and iwi spaces
- A relevant tertiary qualification (postgraduate preferred) or equivalent experience
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

Te Ranga Taunaki sits within Te Pae Aronui. We focus on designing from the outset to give effect to Te Tiriti and support iwi and Maori to create and own their own solutions. We use kaupapa Maori methodology and perspectives to shape and drive design across priority areas in the education system.
