Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
In this role you will conduct a range of internal audit reviews across Auckland Transport (AT) to support the strategic objectives of delivering safety and customer centricity in our services. You will review and assess our internal processes, controls and practices to provide senior management, the Finance and Assurance Committee and the board with an independent and objective assessment on their design and operating effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting internal audit reviews within agreed budgets and timeframes.
- Compiling audit reports, ensuring that findings are accurate and valid and that recommendations are adding value to the business and senior management
- Following up on agreed action plans resulting from internal audit reviews
- Assisting with preparing quarterly internal audit updates to the Finance and Assurance Committee
- Providing input into the strategic and operational risk- based audit plan
- Providing input into the development of internal audit policies and procedures
- Building effective relationships at all levels of the organisation using your strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Promoting risk management across AT
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- 3+ years' audit, accounting or risk experience or 5 years' experience in related fields such as business analysis/advisory and IT systems.
- Ability to use or exposure to, SAP, RAMM and audit interrogation programmes would be advantageous.
- Experience in a large, complex, politically sensitive environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification e.g. Bachelor of Commerce, Business, or similar.
- CAANZ or IIANZ membership (desired)
