Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Reporting to the Data Platform Engineering Team Leader, our Senior Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, building, optimising and maintaining SkyCity's data platform. This role requires proven experience in SQL server, Snowflake, data modelling, ADF development, ETL/ELT and Python.
The role includes a 24/7 on call element on a rotational basis and would be best suited to someone who is self-driven and thrives under pressure.
The Senior Data Engineer will work within the Data Engineering Team and actively contribute to a successful team environment. This includes the sharing of skills, knowledge and ideas, keeping up to date with future technologies and supporting your team members.
To succeed in this role, you would need to have the ability to influence and communicate effectively with the business, stakeholders and within ICT.
Mōu | About You
You will need a minimum of 7 years' experience in data platform engineering, demonstrating expertise in constructing and enhancing data pipelines, incorporating auditing mechanisms and optimising for cost savings and efficiencies. You'll hold advanced skills in data modelling, processing, integration, unstructured data handling, and have proficiency in SQL.
Leverage your ability to transform innovative ideas into tangible business opportunities and foster strong relationships with key business stakeholders using your excellent verbal and written communication skills!
